How old does a person need to receive massage therapy treatment?
Any age; from birth until palliate care
Is muscle soreness after treatment normal?
Most people report experiencing relief from muscular aches and stress after treatment however, occasionally after a deep tissue treatment client could experience soreness for a day post treatment, similar to that after a workout. This could be limited by staying hydrated, applying a local heat application, stretching, or applying a topical anti-inflammatory to the affected area.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
Unless your insurance company requires a doctors referral for purpose of benefit utilization, no, you do not need a doctor's referral
Do I have to remove my clothing?
The reason that individual's remove clothing is so that massage techniques can be applied directly on the skin surface, allowing for more traditional gliding techniques. During the treatment session the client lies in-between two sheets, with only the area being treated is undraped. Regardless of what your comfort level is, the same treatment outcome can be achieved.
Do I accept WSIB or MVA clientele?
YES, but only at Huron Crossing Physiotherapy
